Worldwide, Physiologists are known for their credibility in the field of Bio Medical research. The idea of bringing the Physiologists of Tamilnadu on single platform was mooted by a few well meaning Physiologists representing various Medical Institutions who met at Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital, Chennai 600 044 and decided to form an association of Physiologists of Tamil Nadu (APT) in the year 2007.
  
     
     
   
The primary focus of the association is to promote and encourage academic research activity. It also provides an opportunity to the physiologists to reveal their academic talents, research capabilities thereby sharing knowledge among Physiologists.
    
     
     
 
The Association organizes Annual Conferences, Continuing Medical Education programmes, workshops and Quiz programmes so as to provide an opportunity to the physiologists to contribute to the advancement of the specialty.
